It also provides a look behind the scenes of the Game and Fish Commission's conservation work. The summer camp prank often involved wandering into the woods with an empty pillowcase and making odd noises to attract the creature and then being left alone in the dark. I used to be a member of Pin Oak. I trained my fourth Lab to a HRCH title. I am on my seventh Lab and she helps me daily with my chronic pain from a car accident. I also have hunted Bayou Meto for many years. My Labs have always been part of the family.
That ain't a snipe hunt. Where's yer net? Where's yer bag? Why is it daylight?
I've had every one of those "not so good" things happen in the Metro over the years. I've also had a ton of bang up / everyone limit out days there as well.
Ive used a terminal tackle spinner bait with a swim bait trailer on a fly rod. Didnt have regular poles. Caught my first 2 kentucky bass just laid rod down pulled with my hands. it was on wagon wheel creek in shilder oklahoma. Middle of nowhere.

It’s been several years since I’ve kept up with fishing shows on tv, but I remember watching Jerry in the ‘80s. I enjoyed his show and his whole demeanor. When I saw the first episode with his Dachshund running around in the bank, I told my wife “that’s what I need”! I had a puppy within the week and I’ve had Dachshund’s since. And they really love fishing trips. RIP Jerry !

I saw one of his boundary waters shows and my girlfriend and I decided to go up there. It was ‘93 or ‘94, when there was a big flood up that way. On the plane to Minnesota I was talking to the guy next to me. I told him we were going fishing in this place he probably never heard of, called the Boundary Waters. He says, “Oh, how interesting.” I said, yeah we saw it on a tv show and felt we had to go. He said “What show was that?” So I replied, “ Well you probably never heard of it, it’s called “The Fishin’ Hole” So he said “Well I’m a photographer for that show and Jerry is sitting a couple rows back.” I asked him to introduce me when we landed. So I got to meet Jerry and we visited for a few minutes in the terminal. It was so weird, he made me feel like we were old friends from way back. He was super personable, I wish we were old friends! I really miss that show, and in some strange way, my “old friend” Jerry.

In the Navy its a Seabat and its trapped under a box. The fresh on the boat officer is instructed to bend over real low so he can see it when they lift the box a little because they don't want it to escape, and unknown to him, someone behind him is ready to whack his ass with a broom. The one time I witnessed this event the officer was just clueless enough that he told the guy who whacked him to not do that, then bent over to look again. And yeah...Seabats are a real thing too, but its a type of starfish so even if they actually had one it was never going to escape from anything.
So… what makes people so terrified and such about snipes? I keep hearing how things go bad real fast with them but they just seem like a typical bird to me. What is it you gotta look for?
Most of the time when people talk about hunting "snipes" it's just a prank like he said in the video. They're just messing with you to convince you there is really something out there in the night to go catch. When I was in scouts. All the adults made us go snipe hunting one night so they could get drunk around the campfire, stuff like that. No one is really afraid of snipes, and most people who talk about them are only pulling your leg and trying to get you to believe they're real. This guy is hunting real snipe birds but this isn't what people normally refer to with "snipe hunting"
Snakeheads are not omnivores because they eat macro invertebrates. Also, why so many times do they show bowfin while referring to snakeheads. Who edits this stuff?
I love rivers and excavators and I hate dams this for me would be a dream job. Good work Arkansas from NSW Australia.
